Big Brothers Big Sisters

Greater Cincinnati Car Wash!

Get ready to rev your engines and buckle up for an incredible community fundraiser with Big Brothers Big Sisters! We teamed up with this fantastic organization on May 20 for an unforgettable day at Mike’s Car Wash.

We want to give a big shout-out to all the incredible volunteers who took time out of their busy schedules to make this event possible. Despite the cloudy and occasionally rainy weather, nothing could dampen our spirits. We powered through and made it a roaring success! And now… drumroll, please! The 13th annual Mike’s Carwash fundraiser not only washed away the dirt from cars, but it also raised a jaw-dropping $40,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Thank you to everyone involved for showing the world that we can achieve incredible things as a team.

Tortilla Showdown!

Warning: might cause laughter

We all know people can be competitive, especially at work. Take a peek at how Andy McCarthy, our Sr. Director of Culture & Retention and Josh Viel, our VP of Client Development, blew off some steam this week in the first-ever “Tortilla Showdown”!

The day was dark and stormy; McCarthy and Viel stood at odds, tortillas loaded in hand. This was serious business. Viel took the offensive with the first swipe, but McCarthy was the one who landed the first blow. Finally, Viel is crowned the winner, and McCarthy falls in shame; the crowd (Super Duper Billy Beck) goes wild!! Let us know who YOU want to see take on the winner in the comment box below!

Remember: a good sense of humor can lighten even the most serious situations. Next time you’re feeling stressed out, just remember Josh & Andy slapping the crap out of each other. It’s sure to put a smile on your face 😂

ON THE SPOT

Chris Martin

Meet Chris Martin, the Vice President of Operations – West and our very own RDI Core-guru! With 14 years of experience, he’s become quite an expert and is an integral part of our team. Starting as an agent in Oxford, Chris worked his way up and now oversees not one, not two, but four sites!

Did we mention Chris comes from a big family? With lots of siblings, he knows a thing or two about teamwork and collaboration. Throughout his time at RDI, Chris has had some incredible mentors who have helped shape his career and guide him to success.

Now, here’s a fun fact: Chris has a peculiar taste for tubs of grapefruit! And when he’s not snacking on grapefruit or spending time with his dog Dobby, you might catch him attending hip-hop shows. In fact, he’s so passionate about the genre that he even created a non-profit organization in Vegas to elevate the small business community by way of hip-hop shows for local and national artists.

From his exceptional leadership skills to his love for grapefruit and hip-hop, Chris is a true gem, and we’re lucky to have him on our team. If you see him at your site, be sure to say hello!

PICNIC PERFECTION

An Unforgettable Frienderson Celebration

Is it hot in here, or did Henderson turn up the heat?

It must be true what they say, you have more fun in the sun! The annual Frienderson Picnic was held this past weekend, and it looked like an absolutely B-E-A-U-TIFUL day! RDI Henderson was the place to be, and there was everything you could ever want at a picnic. We went all out, from sizzling hot dogs to giant yard games to face painting – we looked pretty colorful by the end!

But that wasn’t even the best part! The real highlight of the event was the presence and time spent with our friends and family. They made the day truly memorable and enjoyable, and moments like these make us grateful to be part of the RDI family. Check out all the unforgettable memories captured in these photos!

REMEMBERING HISTORY, CELEBRATING CULTURE

Cinco de Mayo at RDI

Did you know Cinco de Mayo, also known as the Anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, is more than just a celebration of Mexican culture? It is an important day in Mexican history as it commemorates the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over the French army in 1862.

Our Nogales, Hermosillo, and Milford sites celebrated in style with delicious food, colorful piñatas, and festive sombreros. As we celebrated with our colleagues and friends, we also had the opportunity to honor Mexico’s rich cultural heritage and come together as a community.

All in all, it was a day filled with good food, good company, and good vibes. We look forward to continuing to celebrate the diversity of our RDI family, and check out some of the photos from the event!

MIND MATTERS

Join Us for a Discussion on Women’s Mental Health

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, our employee assistance program (EAP) partner, Empathia, will be offering an exciting learning opportunity for employee wellness, specifically focused on Women’s Mental Health.

The session will focus on some of the most common mental health conditions affecting women and will discuss how to identify risk factors, recognize signs and symptoms of common women’s behavioral health conditions, and leverage your LifeMatters EAP benefit to help yourself and others.

This event will take place on May 23 and you can learn more through the Core Calendar feature. Don’t worry if you can’t make the live session, as we’ll have a recording available for you to watch at a later time. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!

KIDS RULE

Children's Day Celebration

Our Nogales and Hermosillo sites celebrated Children’s Day!

This holiday is observed annually in Mexico on April 30 to honor the children in our lives and celebrate the joys of childhood. Our Nogales site hosted their celebration at Burger King – a delicious and exciting choice for any kid! The event was filled with smiles and laughter as families enjoyed time together outside of work. From face painting to superhero costumes to a special visit from Mario, there was plenty to do for the guests of honor. We hope this day was full of magic and was a memorable experience for all!

Please enjoy this glimpse into such a fun day, and we are so happy to see our RDI family celebrate their loved ones!
